Previously, Order No. 68 issued by the Work Safety Administration required one dike per tank. We are currently in the design phase for expanding the storage area, and I would like to ask whether there are any height requirements for these dikes under the concept of one dike per tank Can it be built with bricks, or must it be concrete? Are there any relevant standards or specific specifications?
This regulation issued by the State Administration of Work Safety has caused great difficulties for those working in storage and transportation. There are countless situations related to tank areas, yet they have established rules for all of them with just a single statement. If such rules were actually implemented, how much waste would there be across the country! Getting to the point: 1. The dike must have sufficient strength and water resistance – it needs to be able to withstand pressure as well as prevent water from passing through, so relying solely on rotation is not sufficient ； 2. The height of the dike is required to be specified; it is calculated, and the prescribed height must not be less than 0.5 m. You should calculate it according to the tank’s capacity and layout, following the petrochemical fire protection regulations!
