Just use an electric contact pressure gauge connected to the pipeline to ensure that the pump stops automatically when there is no pressure; I’m not sure about how to wire it
The DI signal generated when the electric contact pressure reaches the alarm value is connected to the DO input of the DCS, while the output of DO is wired to the pump control circuit; whether to use normally open or normally closed contacts depends on the actual conditions on site.
How to start the pump when the pipeline is under no pressure?
My pump is not connected to the DCS; it is started and stopped on-site. An electric contact pressure gauge is added to the existing wiring to control the shutdown of the pump when there is no pressure
I’m not quite clear about this control requirement. Generally, there are two pumps: one is operating normally while the other serves as a backup. Once the pressure drops below the set value of the electrical contact, the backup pump starts to operate, and it stops only when the pressure rises above a certain set value.
For insurance, an intermediate relay can be used as a relay. When the low-pressure limit contact closes, the relay activates, and the pump’s stop circuit can be connected in series with the normally closed contact of the intermediate relay.
If the relay operates at zero pressure and stops breaking the connection, how can the pump start?
This pump is a material transfer pump; when the material has been transferred, the operators may not be in the same location, and the pump continues to run even though there is no more material. This can easily damage the pump (magnetic pump), so it is necessary for the pump to stop automatically when there is no pressure left (i.e., when the material is exhausted)
Connecting the contacts of an electric contact pressure gauge directly to the electrical circuit will not meet your requirements; logical components, such as a small controller, must be added in order to achieve this.

Adding a pressure source will create pressure; alternatively, the lower limit of the pressure gauge’s pointer can be adjusted so that the normally closed contacts of the relay close. Since that’s all you have available, this is the only way it can be used. Since the tanks are empty and there’s no pressure anymore, why do you still need to run the pump? ?
