A magnetic flap level gauge for spherical tanks, with remote transmission; the remote transmission mechanism is of the reed type. Due to the cold weather, it is desired to use iron sheeting for insulation. I wonder if this will affect the performance of the magnetic flaps in terms of remote transmission. What is the range in meters? Why not choose a magnetic flip-disc level gauge for local use and a radar level gauge for remote monitoring? In this way, the data from both gauges can be compared; if one of them stops working, it won’t affect the manufacturing process. Moreover, their prices are not very different. It’s usually better to use either type for local or remote monitoring – since the float doesn’t move in either case, the data from both gauges is not useful anyway~
They probably took the price into consideration; after all, they are storage tanks for sewage and sludge oil, which aren’t particularly important.
It’s fine; that’s how it is in our company. Adding insulation foam and then a casing doesn’t cause any problems. But be careful not to let your heat tracing tube get too close to the magnetic flap, as this can affect the measurements.
