I want to change my career from pipeline and equipment installation to working in the environmental protection field

I have been working on pipeline and equipment installation for one and a half years. Last year I went to a project, but since it was nearing completion, there wasn’t much to learn. The chemical industry is doing poorly these days as well; the company keeps submitting bids but doesn’t get any new projects, so I’m feeling anxious. I can’t keep delaying things like this. It doesn’t seem like things will improve in the next 3–5 years. Given the poor conditions in the chemical industry, I’m thinking about changing careers to work in environmental protection. What do you all think? I’d appreciate some insights········
It’s not easy for anyone; people just don’t want to communicate. The scale of environmental protection projects is small, so they’re not easy to work on either. Honestly, one just does the work for whoever offers more money
