For dilute solutions, acidity and alkalinity can be measured with a pH meter. For more concentrated solutions, the pH level is outside the appropriate range; such cases can generally be detected using an online acid-base titration analyzer. Online acid-base titration analyzers generally also use pH as an endpoint indicator, and stepwise titration can be performed for some complex samples.
