Hello, everyone! May I ask, in what situations should galvanized steel pipes be used for connecting the cable trays to the instruments (pumps) on site? In what situations can PVC conduit be used? What are the corresponding standard specifications? What is the required length from the flexible tube (plastic-coated metal hose) to the field instrument (pump)? What are the corresponding standard specifications?
PVC conduit – is this quality good? Is galvanized steel pipe actually much better in quality?
I’ve never seen PVC being used; on-site, galvanized steel pipes are used to protect the cables. PVC isn’t reliable, is it?
When cables need to be laid at a height of less than 2 meters above the ground, or when they pass through areas that require protection such as floor slabs, it is necessary to use conduits for protection. PVC is generally used for concealed installation within walls; galvanized steel pipes are used when it is installed exposed. The main issue with using flexible hoses is cable sag; it should generally be kept within 1.5–2 meters, and they can only be used at the terminal end.
