Is it easy to carry out a project like adding a side stream to a distillation tower? Is it possible to make holes in the tower wall? Do we need to remove one tray?
Sure, it’s not difficult to do; just be careful
Perhaps making a hole in the tower wall isn’t that difficult, but for side-line extraction, a \"liquid collection tray\" is needed to maintain the liquid level. What should be done with this liquid collection tray? It seems that one or two tower trays will have to be replaced
The process is not difficult; just make sure to communicate well with the equipment specialists. If your tower is considered a pressure vessel, then you must comply with the relevant renovation regulations.

Additional info: This is a gasoline depentanizer; the operating pressure is 1.1 MPa, the bottom temperature is 220°C, and the top temperature is 105°C. These are roughly the operating conditions. With 40 trays and 20 feed layers, it is possible to draw off at the 10th layer below the feed through calculation, satisfying the separation requirements. I’m worried about two issues now: 1. As mentioned before, I’m concerned about the high difficulty of the project and its high cost. 2. I am not yet able to perform hydraulic calculations; I’m not sure if the existing trays will be sufficient. At the same time, I need to take into account the original design as well – I need to be able to work with either option. Of course, all of these can be calculated by the design institute, but as a frontline employee, it’s necessary to come up with an estimate that is fairly accurate in order to have the confidence to submit a proposal and to argue one’s case effectively.
This definitely belongs to the category of pressure vessels. Is there any fraud involved? The cost won’t be very high, but it’s necessary to find a qualified company to carry out the design and modification work. The separation capacity of the tray seems to have nothing to do with hydraulics (original text: “water conservancy”)...

You can give me your data, and I’ll provide you with a simple preliminary plan! 15753506807
