Individuals tend to prefer backpressure steam turbines. Condensing units have numerous components, a complex installation process, many devices and interlocks, and higher energy consumption

This is why combined heat and power generation is required in current thermal power plant standards – for energy savings. Think about it: in a condensing type system, the circulating water needs to be condensed, which not only results in heat loss but also requires additional electricity due to the use of that circulating water!
