What is the professional translation for crane apron?

Next to our atmospheric and vacuum distillation units, there is an area related to lifting operations; it is labeled as “crane apron” in the legend. I’m completely puzzled. If it is port terminology, then \"apron\" likely refers to a sloping protective area, that is, a large zone located behind the berthing line, used for loading and unloading goods as well as for their temporary storage. So what does that refer to in terms of cranes? I hope everyone will kindly share their insights.
The position of the crane that can be stopped, or the crane fence.
