A newcomer is asking: The desalinated water and groundwater produced contain oil – how can this oil be removed?

We are a company that deals with carbon fiber, not oil. Desalinated water is supplied to boilers, and the groundwater contains excessive levels of oil. How can we remove the oil from the water? Thank you

Groundwater --- multi-media --- disk filtration --- ultrafiltration --- reverse osmosis. The main problem is that with water containing oil, ultrafiltration is used for filtration; the volume of water to be processed is large, and the oil inevitably remains in the ultrafiltration system. Backwashing does not help to remove this oil, which severely affects the performance of the ultrafiltration process

What is the oil content in your incoming water? It’s necessary to determine the source of this oil as well as its type. The oil content in the water supplied to boilers should be below 2 ppm. I have some technical information regarding the treatment of oilfield produced water for use as boiler feedwater; if you’re interested, I can provide you with that information for reference (mainly regarding investment costs)
