Desulfurized purified water is used for electrodialysis; what impact does the pH value of this purified water have on electrodialysis? It is said that either too high or too low a pH value can cause crude oil to emulsify – what is the principle behind this?
An excessively high pH value, indicating high alkalinity, can easily lead to the emulsification of oils; on the other hand, an excessively low pH value is likely to affect the effectiveness of demulsifiers and thus cause oil emulsification.
Could you explain the principle in detail? I know about this too, but I just don’t know what the principle is or where its origin lies!
