Can the pump used to transport white oil be replaced with a centrifugal pump? Why?
White oil has a slightly higher viscosity, so a centrifugal pump may not be very suitable.
White oil has a high viscosity, so it is not suitable for use with centrifugal pumps. However, I’m not aware of the temperature under the operating conditions you mentioned; if the temperature is raised to 200 degrees, the viscosity of the white oil decreases and it becomes possible to use centrifugal pumps. Nevertheless, for white oil, it is recommended to use gear pumps, screw pumps, or rotor pumps – these pump types are more suitable for transporting oils with high viscosity
Gear pumps or diaphragm pumps work fine; white oil generally requires a high level of purity, and there are also metering options available, with diaphragm pumps being capable of metering flow.
