Has the pressure to enter the factory been very low during this period, or has it been quite volatile?
Could you describe the specific situation accurately? For example, how pressure changes, how flow rate changes, and the conditions of compressor vibration and whistling. The issue of surge in reciprocating compressors has come up on forums before; I recall that a knowledgeable expert also mentioned in his online materials that surge in reciprocating compressors is more severe than that in centrifugal compressors, and therefore more attention needs to be paid to it during design. But I have never encountered it in practice. So, I want to find out.
Is it related to the intake pressure and intake volume? Surge usually occurs due to insufficient gas flow. Our compressors have never experienced surge, but the pressure-boosting end of the expander has had surge issues, and that was also due to inadequate gas flow. :)
