We replaced the platinum-rhodium 10 mesh in March, and at the beginning of this replacement the ammonia consumption was 284 Kg/t*ao of acid. Over time, the ammonia consumption per unit increases. For the platinum mesh that is subjected to pickling, the ammonia consumption before pickling was 288 Kg/t*ao of acid; however, after pickling, this value rises to around 300 Kg (it is important that the process be carried out strictly in accordance with the original methods for mesh cleaning). It can be analyzed from the following aspects: 1. The activity of the platinum mesh does not increase after pickling; 2. The platinum mesh is contaminated, resulting in poisoning and an inability to carry out reduction. In the first case, there will be a noticeable change after a few days of driving, with the trend moving in a positive direction. In the second case, the following can be considered: 1. The factors that cause poisoning of the platinum mesh – whether toxic substances are present in the ammonia filtration and air filtration processes ; 2. Whether any substances that can poison the platinum mesh were introduced into the oxidation furnace during parking for mesh cleaning or while the machine was in operation.
