The existing pipelines used to transport 48% sodium hydroxide solutions freeze due to the low temperatures in winter, which prevents the transport of this liquid alkali. Insulation has been applied to the outside of these pipelines, but it still isn’t effective enough； I’m not sure what good solutions exist. Steam heating results in significant waste of steam; I’ve heard that electric heating is an option, but I’m not sure about its safety aspects. How is this kind of problem usually resolved?
If it continues to get clogged during continuous conveying, then heating is necessary. In the case of intermittent conveying, compressed air can be used for purging to clean the pipes, ensuring no blockages during the next use.
