Is it better to arrange the boiler pipes horizontally or vertically? Under what circumstances is a vertical arrangement preferable? The question might be pretty silly, so don’t laugh at me.
Pipes – it should be a pipe-type boiler, with water and steam flowing through pipes. Generally, when it is greater than 20 t/h, it is usually a steam boiler. Personally, I think a vertical arrangement is preferable, as it allows for steam generation and phase change, includes explosion-proof vents, and enables rapid discharge of steam upward. Horizontal layout does not have this feature. In boilers for hot water, fire tubes are generally used, with smoke tubes arranged horizontally and winding back and forth to increase the residence time of the flue gases and expand the heat exchange area. I have never seen a horizontal-mounted tubular boiler in person. Well, if there are experts around, please share a picture so I can learn from it*.
It depends on the size of your furnace; smaller furnaces generally have more horizontal tubes. The DZL type must be the vertical pipe, right?
Why do small furnaces have many horizontal tubes? Is it easier to arrange, or is the amount of steam produced less?
