A person can have many mentors throughout their life, in areas such as learning, work, life, and other aspects; these mentors can be short-term, long-term, or even lifelong. I switched from plastic granulation to chemical production, and this led me to work in equipment maintenance, manufacturing, process design, and equipment installation. There was always someone by my side to guide and advise me, and to this day I still consult him from time to time; he is my lifelong mentor. The master’s requirement is to put it into practice. Any skill can only be mastered through practice. When I first started working in chemical production, I was assigned to the material feeding team in the workshop responsible for feeding materials in. It was extremely exhausting, really; especially in the summer. However, the master’s requirements go beyond just adding materials; in addition to that, one must also learn how to operate various stations. After three months, one can take on an operational role, but even then, one starts with the lowest-level position, moving to a higher position every three months. (My colleagues constantly joke about when I’ll get promoted.) The tasks in the operational role aren’t just about operating the equipment; it also involves learning from the maintenance staff and working with them on equipment maintenance and repairs. After going through all the different positions, I was assigned back to the boiler room, where I learned about steam boilers and heat transfer boilers, as well as how to operate them; I also learned about the daily maintenance and repair of boilers. Finally, I thought I had completed the whole process, but it wasn’t over yet – there were still tests to be done. Fortunately, I had learned how to conduct tests when working on plastic formulations before, so it was relatively easier. Finally, the rotation through various positions is over. Next, it’s only natural to take on tasks in the workshop – it’s the easiest position with the most free time. But it’s not meant for relaxation; another task is to assist the mechanics: whenever there is a repair task, I help by bringing tools and such. Sometimes I also help disassemble and assemble mechanical equipment such as vacuum pumps, centrifugal pumps, gear pumps, cranes, air compressors, reducers, etc., as well as repairing the valves that have been taken apart. Two years later, I left the workshop to take on management duties, responsible for materials, finished products, and intermediate accounting, as well as controlling production costs – something that was easy for me; even before changing careers, I had already been handling the production reports and payroll sheets for the workshop. But there is another task, which is to learn about the *equipment and its installation. The installation itself is no problem; I have installed several units of this type before. However, there are issues with the manufacturing of the equipment – after all, it’s not a manufacturer, so there’s no opportunity, no suitable environment, and no skilled workers available. Computers were not widespread back then, and they still aren’t. I could only rely on the existing equipment drawings, but even then I only understood things partially.------- Later, for various reasons, I moved to another group company that had an equipment manufacturing facility; the technicians there often sent me there, and finally I was able to understand those things that I had previously only understood partially. That’s why the saying \"One day as a teacher, forever as a father\" is absolutely true; he is my teacher for life.
