What material is most suitable for corrosion protection in the tube bundle of high-temperature heat exchangers? What is the difference between 316 and 316L?
Generally, the high-temperature requirements must be met first, before considering the corrosion requirements. Of course, when the temperature does not exceed 525 degrees, 316L can be chosen for good corrosion resistance. But when the temperature exceeds 525 degrees, it is better to use 316 to meet the carbon content requirements. Therefore, a comprehensive and rational choice is necessary; it cannot be simply stated that 316L is better than 316.
