Personally, I recommend that the heating water for instruments be connected through a separate pipeline for condensate recovery, so as to avoid mixing it with the process condensate. This is because the flow rate of the heating water used for instruments is often high, resulting in a large amount of steam remaining in that system, which can cause water hammer effects in the process condensate network
It’s better to use a hydroseparator of satisfactory quality for control; as long as the hydroseparator works well, it will ensure that the temperature is sufficient, while also preventing a large amount of steam from being present in the condensate, thus reducing erosion of the pipelines.
