Origin of capacitive compensation cabinets: Most of the loads in power systems are inductive loads, and the widespread use of power electronic equipment by electricity-consuming enterprises results in a low power factor in the power grid. A lower power factor reduces equipment utilization, increases investment in power supply infrastructure, deteriorates voltage quality, shortens the lifespan of equipment, and **increases line losses. To address the energy waste caused by low power factors in the power grid, as well as these factors that adversely affect power supply, it is necessary to effectively improve the power factor of the grid. Obviously, it is unreasonable and usually impossible to have all of this reactive power supplied by generators and transmitted over long distances. A reasonable approach is to generate reactive power where it is needed, that is, by adding reactive power compensation equipment and devices. Components: Generally speaking, a low-voltage capacitor compensation cabinet consists of a cabinet housing, busbars, circuit breakers, isolating switches, thermal relays, contactors, surge arresters, capacitors, reactors, primary and secondary wires, terminal blocks, an automatic power factor compensation control device, and panel instruments. Main functions: The parallel capacitor bank is suitable for power frequency transmission and distribution systems, where it is used to improve the power factor, regulate grid voltage, reduce line losses, maximize equipment efficiency, and enhance the quality of power supply. Provide reactive power compensation for the line to improve its power factor. The power factor of the circuit is monitored by a detection device; when it falls below a set value, the contactor closes, connecting the capacitor in parallel with the circuit, and the amount of capacitance connected in parallel is automatically adjusted according to the actual conditions. When the set value is reached, stop the integration. When the inductive load on the line decreases, the power factor becomes leading; at this point, the line automatically reduces the capacity of the capacitors connected to it to reach the set value.
