For chlorine drying, 98% sulfuric acid is currently used. I’m considering switching to 97% – is that feasible? I would appreciate advice from those with experience in this area.

The lower the sulfuric acid concentration, the worse the water absorption effect.
Personally, I think it can be used, but the consumption of sulfuric acid will definitely be high! Monitoring and analysis are required in the initial stage of using chlorinated water! The sulfuric acid concentration in each tower must be analyzed and monitored promptly! The amount of sulfuric acid used needs to be increased! Keep the cooling temperature on the lower side!
There’s no problem in winter; in summer, if the system temperature is high, it might affect the drying effect, but theoretically it should be fine.
As long as the sulfuric acid concentration in each tower is well controlled, the drying effect will be satisfactory. The consumption will certainly increase; by considering the prices and amounts of these two types of sulfuric acid, it’s not certain that production costs will decrease

Using 07% sulfuric acid definitely won’t work, but 97% sulfuric acid can be used just fine; the difference of 1% in concentration has no impact on the drying effect, but it does affect the amount of sulfuric acid consumed. Generally, the concentration of sulfuric acid after water absorption is kept between about 70% and 75%; when the concentration of sulfuric acid drops to this level, it affects the water absorption efficiency.
We have built several sets for chlorine drying, and over 96% of them have worked without any problems
