How should the material of the diaphragm in a diaphragm pump be chosen depending on the properties of the medium? We used a PTFE diaphragm; when the medium was a vulcanizing agent, the diaphragm broke after just one morning of use.
Temperature, pressure? Which specific vulcanizing agent?
It is not clear whether the polytetrafluoroethylene diaphragm is resistant to vulcanizing agents! But can you be sure it was the vulcanizing agent that caused the diaphragm to rupture? Improper operation can also cause the diaphragm to rupture!
