With advances in gasification technology, the concept of Jincheng anthracite coal as the highest-quality raw material for chemical industries has undergone a fundamental change. How to break through traditional processes and find a gasification pathway suitable for the efficient and clean conversion of bituminous coal in Jincheng has become a major issue that the coal chemical industry of Jinmei Group urgently needs to address. “During the 12th Five-Year Plan period, Jinnan Coal Group’s coal chemical industry focused its efforts on the research and development of smokeless coal gasification technology, achieving new breakthroughs in this area. Through multiple meetings to exchange operational experience regarding coal pulverization pressurized gasification units, as well as expert seminars on such units, improvement projects and solutions were proposed. The company became the first in China to use high-sulfur anthracite from Jincheng as raw material in the coal pulverization pressurized gasification process, achieving successful project demonstrations. Additionally, a pressurized moving-bed (JC furnace) gasification technology suitable for Jincheng’s anthracite was developed, effectively addressing the challenges associated with gasifying anthracite. “Regarding the gasification technology using anthracite powder in Jincheng, we collaborated with East China University of Science and Technology to develop the ‘Jinmei Furnace’ (JE). Basic application research and the preparation of the process package were completed; relevant entities have been commissioned to manufacture the furnace at an appropriate time, and preliminary work for industrial trials has been initiated. We have also received 15 million yuan in financial support from the Shanxi Provincial Department of Science and Technology, which has made a positive contribution to effectively addressing the issues related to the gasification of anthracite powder in Jincheng. ”Yuan Fengzhen, director of the Coal Chemical Engineering Research Institute of Jinmei Group, told reporters. While exploring new types of smokeless coal gasification technologies, Jinneng Coal Chemical Industry has also continued to work on the optimization and upgrading of traditional gasification process systems. To study and address the problems of poor stability and high consumption in chemical production caused by the increasing sulfur content in smokeless lump coal, active research and experiments were carried out on the use of high-sulfur lump coal in atmospheric pressure fixed-bed gasifiers. The operating principles for gasifying high-sulfur coal, as well as the distribution of sulfides from the coal in the raw gas, slag, and purge gas, were gradually understood. An industrial trial of burning 100% high-sulfur lump coal was successfully conducted on a \"18•30\" production system owned by Tianyuan Company, providing guidance and references for the upgrading of similar facilities to use high-sulfur smokeless lump coal. Research and implementation on the adaptability of using Jincheng smokeless pelletized coal in fixed-bed batch gasifiers enabled long-term stable operation of such gasification units with a high proportion (up to 35%) of pelletized coal incorporated. To address the common drawbacks of traditional shift processes, such as long operational sequences, high engineering costs, high equipment maintenance expenses, low heat utilization efficiency, and short catalyst lifespans, Shandong Lianmeng Company has adopted advanced water-shift isothermal shift technology to build new shift units. As a result, under the same load conditions, the system resistance has been reduced by 0.07 MPa, power consumption per ton of ammonia has been lowered by 5.1 kWh, the amount of condensate water in the shift system has been reduced by more than half, the total engineering investment has been decreased by around 25%, and the temperature of the shifted gas in the outlet gas exchanger has dropped to 84.6°C – all of which contribute to extending the service life of the equipment in the shift system. “Faced with increasingly stringent requirements for energy conservation and environmental protection, coal chemical enterprises have made good progress in the development of technologies for these purposes, building on their efforts in research and optimization of gasification processes. ”Liu Fuzeng, head of the Technical Management Department of the Coal Chemicals Division of Jinmei Group, told reporters that we are making great efforts to reduce energy consumption and waste. We are actively carrying out environmental protection-related upgrades such as flue gas desulfurization and denitrification, technical improvements and capacity expansions to the wastewater treatment systems, comprehensive utilization of waste gases, wastes, and sludge, as well as hierarchical utilization of steam, in order to ensure the orderly progress of efforts aimed at energy conservation, environmental protection, cost reduction, and income increase. In 2015, more than 20 seminars and exchange meetings on technical projects were held, resolving over 50 challenges related to safety management, environmental protection and energy conservation, as well as production efficiency in chemical manufacturing. More than 30 technologies were shared across different units to promote improvement; in the coal chemical sector, the coal consumption per ton of ammonia produced decreased by 11.40 kilograms of standard coal per ton, representing a reduction of 1.03% ; The electricity consumption per ton of ammonia decreased by 59.29 kWh/ton, a reduction of 5.05%. According to statistics, during the 12th Five-Year Plan period, Jincheng Coal Group’s coal chemical industry won 60 awards for corporate technological progress, carried out 267 projects under the “Five Small” initiative, received 10 awards for scientific and technological progress at the national and provincial levels, and was granted a total of 316 patents. Seven companies were recognized as provincial-level corporate technology centers, while six companies were designated as high-tech enterprises. This fostered innovation vitality, enhanced innovation capabilities, and expanded opportunities for innovation.
