On January 12, the 3,000 tons per hour S-MTO catalyst production facility built by Nanjing Engineering Company under EPC contract produced qualified products, marking the successful commissioning of the facility. Building an SMTO catalyst production facility is in line with the energy development trends and the strategic objectives of the group company; it also meets the demand for catalyst production by the 600,000 tons per year methanol-to-olefins MTO plant at Zhongyuan Ethylene, as well as other MTO plants in China. It is of great significance for accelerating the development of new energy chemical technologies with Sinopec’s own intellectual property rights, optimizing the energy structure, promoting the steady development of China’s petrochemical industry, and enhancing its international competitiveness.
