Clause 10 of 6.3.2 in standard HG/T20509-2014: For high-capacity UPS units of 10 kVA or above, it is advisable to have a separate power supply room. So here’s the question: I’ve checked many standards, but none specify exactly what size of room is required for power supplies of a certain capacity. I’ve been working in design for only a short time and my knowledge is still limited; I hope experts can offer some guidance!

Regarding the size of the UPS power room, the following should be considered: 1. Determine the number of UPS units； Confirm the UPS capacity ； Determine backup battery duration ； Then determine the number of UPS main cabinets and the number of backup battery cabinets. The UPS capacity should be determined based on the size of the control room and the space available there; consideration must also be given to the need for space if new production equipment is to be added. 2. Determine the number of circuit breakers based on the number of users and the capacity required after UPS output, and then determine the number of power distribution cabinets. 3. The placement location of the air conditioners also needs to be considered; this must not be overlooked. If the UPS has a large capacity, the air conditioners will be larger as well, and their number will increase accordingly. 4. Determine the necessary locations for power distribution cabinets based on the size of the control room and the available space there. These are the factors to consider regarding the size of the UPS room.
