Maintenance techniques for mechanical seals in turbine compressors: 1. Inspect the working surfaces of the rotating and stationary rings of the compressor; they should be flat, smooth, free of grooves, with a surface roughness of no more than Ra0.4; Inspect the springs to ensure there are no cracks, twists, or bends; the free length and elasticity of each spring should be consistent. 2. Check the contact between the rotor ring of the compressor and the shaft shoulder; the mating surfaces should form a continuous contact ring, with the contact area being at least 85%. All O-rings should be replaced each time the component is removed or installed. 3. Measure the length dimension of the compressor mechanical seal assembly ; Check the carbon ring and tetrafluoro cover; there should be no damage and they should be firmly bonded together. 4. All O-rings to be replaced with new ones ; The new O-ring should be free from dents, scratches, burrs, flattening, abrasions, deformation, aging, and other defects, and it should have good elasticity ; Check the fit between the new ring and the O-ring groove; it should be just right in terms of tightness, with the O-ring being compressed to an appropriate degree. 5. The working surface that comes into contact with the O-ring must be free from defects such as scratches, wear, or roughness. 6. The axial positioning ring of the compressor’s mechanical seal should be flat and free from deformation; the thickness variation measured along the entire circumference should be less than 0.02 mm. The positioning ring should fit tightly against the grooves in the sealing chamber as well as against the end face of the stationary ring. The pin holes in the positioning ring should align with those in the sealing housing, and the pins should not get stuck. 7. The positioning pin holes of the carbon ring bracket and the static ring housing are aligned; the positioning pin is firm within the housing and has an appropriate tightness in the bracket’s pin hole.
