Is it feasible to switch from the field of chemical process instrumentation and automation to power and thermal control? Could those in this field offer some advice? I have worked in the chemical industry on 300-ton fluidized bed boilers, 240-ton coal powder boilers, as well as the associated desulfurization and denitrification systems. There is extensive experience in the control of large-scale compressor turbines (mainly in the commissioning of Woodward 505 systems and the operation of Nanjing Keyuan DEH systems); there are no issues with the commissioning of conventional instruments and chemical process instruments (such instruments are referred to as analysis instruments in chemical processing plants). I’m not sure which area of business knowledge is lacking; I would appreciate some guidance from colleagues in the chemical industry. Thank you
It’s mainly the production process that differs; everything else is pretty much the same. Besides, the original poster has work experience in this area. You could learn more about boilers, steam turbines, and their control systems. Personally, I think it is feasible.
