The indicator lights on the operation panel of our equipment turn red when it is in operation and green when it is not. I suffer from OCD, so it makes sense to me that red means stop and green means go; however, some factories use red to indicate stop and green to indicate operation. I would like to ask if there is any particular reason behind this
During operation, both the red and green lights are on; people either turn a blind eye or choose not to look.
I feel the same; every time I see it, I get the urge to turn it green
I still remember during the trial run, the control panel of the device had both red and green lights; from a distance, it was impossible to tell anything from those indicators. Later, it was uniformly changed to red for operation and green for stop; red serves as a warning
Red light indicates danger (in operation), while green light indicates safety (stopped). If it is powered on, the lights will be on; if they are not on, it means no power is supplied, or there may be a fault – the indicator light could be broken
The on-site control panel should indicate a danger signal when the motor is running; therefore, it is more appropriate to use a red indicator light. In the control room, however, the motor is in a normal operating state, so it is more suitable to use a green indicator light.
It seems that the red light is more noticeable than the green light, making it easier to identify. . . At the same time, red represents danger, indicating that it is in operation under voltage. . .
