The outlet nozzle of the vertical reboiler in the tower is connected directly to the tower’s nozzles. After installation, it was found that the vertical thermosyphon reboiler (10 meters high) was not vertical, with an upward or downward deviation of around 20 mm. Could this have an impact on operations? Are there any documents indicating the effects of such a non-vertical installation on operation? Books and standards, etc., as well as factory production experience are also acceptable.
Are the pipe ends butt-welded horizontally? How can the reboiler be 10m tall? So big? A direct connection method is not very good, as it cannot absorb thermal stress. If the device is not vertical, it may be due to poor manufacturing quality or improper installation; over time, the stress on the pipe opening might cause leaks.
Such a small voltage deviation will not have any significant impact on the operation.

In the case of a rising-film type, if there is indeed an impact, it will be in the form of slight differences in the liquid holdup at the distribution heads located in different positions. As long as the circulation rate remains normal under normal operating conditions, with no interruptions or significant abnormalities, it should not cause coking of the material inside the tubes; normal operation should still be possible.

There are no major issues with the process operation. But you should ask for the stress expert’s opinion to see if there is any misalignment or twisting, as it’s not good to keep straining.
