I referred to these two units of the two projects: For Project A, the reflux in the acidic water stripping tower is FO, while that in the amine solution regeneration tower is FC. For Project B, the reflux in the acidic water stripping tower is FC, and that in the amine solution regeneration tower is FO. It’s completely confusing. . When it comes to deciding whether to use a valve that opens or closes in response to air pressure for controlling flow at the pump outlet, in order to prevent backflow of the medium during power outages, it’s really difficult to make a decision – closing the valve risks damaging the pump, while leaving it open poses a risk of backflow. But for the acid water return pump, since it isn’t sensitive to backflow, it’s better to choose a air valve. We have four sets: three for shutting off the air flow and one for turning it on. I really hadn’t paid attention to this before; what I focused on were the flow control, liquid level control, and pressure control of the desulfurization tower, as well as various control valves designed to prevent cross-contamination of media and pressure buildup in the equipment.

This post was last edited by ylb913 on 2016-2-26 at 19:07. Excessive flow in the pump causes it to trip; this doesn’t cause any damage to the pump itself. When the pump stops due to such conditions, first, the seal is damaged, and in the most severe cases, the pump may explode ) axis. It can also cause the bearing housing to overheat; I’ve seen cases where operations were stopped promptly due to smoking, and in severe cases, fire might break out.
Can’t a centrifugal pump withstand some pressure? The damage caused by vacuuming should be greater, right?
If the holding time is too short, it’s fine; but if it’s too long, the medium will heat up and vaporize, which will lead to the pump becoming evacuated, experiencing vibrations, having its seals damaged, and its bearings being affected; There’s no need to wait until the pump is empty; either the pump has tripped due to overload, or someone has already gone out to close the control valve.
That’s definitely the case too – if the feed is FC, then no material will enter. If FO is used at the reflux point, the reflux tank will be emptied in no time
