RT, does using normal steam as a terminator in catalytic cracking result in higher levels of thiols and other sulfur compounds in the catalytic gasoline? ?
This should not have much of an impact, after all, the amount of terminator used is not large
An excessive amount of additive can affect the octane rating of gasoline; moreover, if it is added to gasoline during hydrogenation, it can also impact the hydrogenation process.
At present, the thiol sulfur content in the light gasoline produced through gasoline hydrogenation is on the high side; it is suspected that this might be the reason
If in doubt, just stop for a few days, take samples for analysis, and you’ll know.
When the dosage of the terminator used in regular gasoline is too high, it directly leads to a decrease in the octane rating of that gasoline. The quality of regular gasoline remains good; however, as terminators, we also use coke gas, C9, and substandard gasoline, among other things. We also have a variety of terminators available; generally, crude gas oil is used. When there is an excess of defective oil in the storage tanks, it is used to make terminators. Sometimes the company purchases some tire oil as well, along with oils from various devices in the sulfuric acid water tanks
