Diagnosis methods for common faults in hydraulic systems 1 Diagnosis methods for common faults 1.1 Simple fault diagnosis method 1) Consult the equipment operator to understand the operating condition of the equipment. These include: whether the hydraulic system is working properly ; Are there any abnormalities with the hydraulic pump? ; Timing and results of hydraulic oil cleanliness testing ; Filter element cleaning and replacement status ; Were the hydraulic components adjusted before the failure occurred? ; Have the sealing elements been replaced? ; What abnormal phenomena occurred in the hydraulic system before and after the failure? ; It was investigated one by one what faults had occurred in the system in the past and how they were resolved. 2) Check for any issues with the hydraulic system’s pressure, speed, fluid condition, leaks, vibration, etc. 3) Listen to the sound of the hydraulic system: impact noise ; Pump noise and abnormal sounds ; Determine whether the hydraulic system is operating properly. 4) Check the temperature rise, vibration, creep, and the tightness of the connections to determine whether the moving parts are operating normally. 1.2 Analysis of hydraulic system schematics: Faults in hydraulic transmission systems are analyzed based on their schematic diagrams, to identify the location and cause of the faults, and to propose methods for resolving them. It becomes easy to diagnose faults by comparing and analyzing with the action cycle table. 1.3 Other analysis methods: When a fault occurs in the hydraulic system, logical analysis based on the principles of the hydraulic system or methods such as causal analysis are used to eliminate possible causes one by one, until the location of the fault is identified; this is how faults are located using logical analysis. For ease of application, fault diagnosis experts have designed logic flowcharts or other diagrams to make logical judgments about faults, thereby facilitating fault diagnosis. There are also some other simpler and faster methods; I welcome colleagues to explore and discuss them together. This is merely meant to serve as a starting point.
