I have a question: how is the popularity of a post calculated?

As the title suggests, when you move the mouse over the “fire” icon next to a post, a “popularity” value is displayed. So how can one know the popularity of a post? Is it based on the number of participants at the back?
The level of popularity is related to the number of actions taken on this topic within a certain period (this includes replies, ratings, comments, favorites, sharing, etc.). Upon closer inspection, popularity is also divided into levels 1, 2, and 3; however, the exact number of actions required to reach each level isn’t clearly defined.
It’s strange; some posts get the “popular” label with fewer than 30 replies, while others don’t get it even with over 40 replies.
