I examined the drawings of the acidic water stripping units for Projects A and B in a renowned institute’s Project I; there were no valves installed on the pipelines running from the acidic water tank to the water seal tank. However, in Project B’s amine solution regeneration unit, a gate valve and a vent valve were present on the pipeline going from the lean amine solution tank to the water seal tank. Similarly, in Project C’s amine solution regeneration unit of another renowned institute’s Project II, a gate valve and a vent valve were also installed on the pipeline from the lean amine solution tank to the water seal tank. What is the reason for this difference? Thank you
This post was last edited by ylb913 on 2016-3-3 at 17:55. Recently, I saw in another factory that two sewage tanks shared one water seal, and there were no valves at the gas phase outlet. We do have them, but our wastewater stripping system consists of only one series and two wastewater tanks; the water seal tanks are independent of each other, yet the pipes of the gas inlet purification equipment eventually converge together. Major overhauls are carried out every 3 to 4 years, during which the interior of one of the tanks is re-coated with an anti-corrosion layer. Due to the short duration of these maintenance periods, the tank that has been re-coated is not ready for use when the facility resumes operation; therefore, it is also impossible to rely on valve isolation in such cases. The lessons learned from the explosions of multiple sulfur-containing wastewater tanks at a factory on June 9, 2014, have still not received widespread attention.
So, should it be added or not? . .
Do not add it, as it can easily crystallize and cause blockages, leading to obstruction
