It mainly depends on the process you use. Generally, the treatment process does not have strict requirements regarding temperature; of course, processes such as stripping and absorption do have higher requirements. However, biochemical treatment requires relatively high standards.
Generally, biochemical treatment in the north requires insulation and heating. Whether a cooling tower is necessary depends on the temperature of the incoming water; many industrial wastewater streams have extremely high temperatures, making it unsuitable to be sent directly into biological treatment processes. As for how to carry out the calculations, it’s simpler in the case of cooling towers – by taking into account the inlet and outlet water temperatures as well as the water volume, it’s possible to determine the specific parameters. As for heat retention and heating, factors such as the temperature difference between the inside and outside of the tank, heat loss from the tank walls and bottom, heat loss from the tank roof, and the impact of aeration on cooling the aerobic tank must be taken into consideration. However, even the modeling and calculations are quite complex, and the results obtained differ significantly from reality; it’s better to apply a higher safety factor.
