Are the scores of the subjects passed in the first year of the Chemical Engineering exam retained in the second year?

Since its inception in 2004, the Registration Examination for Chemical Engineers has always consisted of two parts: a basic exam and a specialized exam. The basic exam is divided into morning and afternoon sessions, with scores from both sessions being combined; those who pass it can take the specialized exam the following year, provided they meet the required conditions； The professional exam is held over two days: the first day consists of a knowledge test, while the second day features a case study test. Scores are calculated based on two sets of questions each in the morning and afternoon of each day; in other words, a passing score is 60 points in total for the morning and afternoon sessions on the first day (usually 60 points), and the same applies to the second day. Reaching the passing score on both exams held on the same day qualifies one for the professional exam; in other words, passing one exam and failing the other results in failure. There are rumors online that the certification exam might adopt a rolling system, with scores achieved on any given day being counted within that rolling cycle; however, there is no official confirmation yet. Personally, I don’t think it’s likely. The registration examination is organized by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development; if there are changes in this system, other registration examinations will also be adjusted accordingly.
