I have been working at a design institute for three years and am currently pursuing a part-time graduate degree. I want to obtain some type of certified qualification; which certifications offer higher earnings?

In design institutes, there is a high demand in society for obtaining a supervision certificate or a first-class constructor certificate.

It’s a good idea to get certified as an HVAC, plumbing, power, electrical, or architectural engineer. What is your field of study?

Generally, design institutes are not allowed to allow others to use their name for business purposes; it can only be done under the institute’s own name. That’s the case in our company as well. There is no additional income from doing this, and I often hear that such practices are being cracked down on, so I’m afraid of getting caught. But usually, there are ways around these rules – those who are too scared will just starve. As long as one isn’t committing any crimes, it’s fine to make money in this way. Back to the main topic: regarding certificates, those related to structural engineering, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems are in high demand. I’m not too familiar with requirements in the fields of architecture and power engineering. Certificates such as those for first-level engineers and supervision specialists are in great demand by general engineering companies; however, ordinary design firms may have limited demand for such certificates if they don’t possess general contracting qualifications
