Dear sea friends, under what circumstances should low-leakage valves be used, or is a leakage test required? Are there any relevant standards or regulations that recommend specific devices to be used?
Low-leakage valves are based on environmental protection requirements. It is the engineering design party that establishes low-leakage requirements for the relevant equipment based on the LDAR approach for uncontrolled emissions. When the purchaser requests the manufacturer to provide a low-leakage test report, the manufacturer is responsible for conducting the low-leakage test and issuing the report. Typically, purchasers will rely on the low-leakage certificates and reports already obtained by the manufacturer; if they fall within the specified range, no further testing is usually carried out to save costs and time.
