The company uses three RTO furnaces to treat waste gas; the temperature in the combustion chamber is normally around 820°C. The ceramic heat storage blocks are arranged in two layers: the temperature in the first furnace is around 650–200°C, in the second furnace it’s around 350–70°C, while in the third furnace it’s only 165–50°C. Previously, the temperatures of the three furnaces were similar; now it has been found that the negative pressure applied to the waste gas is not as effective as before. It is suspected that the pressure exerted by the fan is too high, resulting in no negative pressure downstream. Have any of you sea friends encountered a similar situation? Is it the blockage of the heat storage element that has caused a decrease in its heat storage capacity? Are there any cleaning methods, or should the heat storage blocks be replaced?
Our company also has an RTO: there is a heat exchanger at the inlet of our RTO unit (for waste heat recovery), and this problem may be caused by a blockage in the inlet heat exchanger; The handling method involves performing regular empty-burning operations ; Removal of coking in the inlet heat exchanger and furnace ;

It’s blocked; lower the temperature and stop the machine. Rinse it evenly from the top with water – once the water coming out is clean, that’s fine. But after restarting, run it at high temperature with no load to dry out the ceramics
After shutting down, I entered inside to replace the damaged regenerator and carried out cleaning. The effect is good
How do you clean it? Is it the honeycomb that’s broken, or is it the saddle that’s broken?
