Pump net positive suction head

A few days ago, the manufacturer specified that for a pump, the safe value for the net positive suction head is that it should be at least 0.5 m higher than the required net positive suction head for that pump. However, the value I calculated does not reach 0.5 m. Which standard specifies this 0.5 m value?
