Hello everyone. I have 8 years of experience in the chemical industry, working as a process supervisor. I studied pharmacy, and I started working at a chemical plant right after graduating; thus, I now have 8 years of work experience. I don’t want to stay in this situation forever, so I want to take some exams, but I don’t know where to start. I’m not sure what kind of exams would be suitable for someone in my position. I’ve heard from those who are more experienced that there are things like certified chemical engineers and various professional titles, but I don’t understand any of these. Therefore, I hope everyone here can give me some suggestions and advice. I graduated from a secondary school specializing in pharmacy. . . . . The requirements for applying for an intermediate professional title are as follows: The applicant must meet one of the following conditions: 1. Graduated with a doctorate degree ； 2. After graduating with a master’s degree, have worked in the field related to the specialty applied for for at least 2 years ； 3. After graduating from undergraduate studies, have worked in the field related to the applied major for at least 5 years ； 4. After graduating from a specialized program, have worked in the field related to the applied specialty for at least 7 years ； 5. After graduating with a junior college degree or higher, have held a professional and technical position at the assistant instructor level for at least 4 years ； 6. Obtain a secondary vocational education diploma by the end of 1982, and have worked in the field related to the specialty applied for for at least 15 years. 7. After graduating from a secondary vocational school, have worked in engineering fields such as agricultural technology, farmland water management, water conservancy construction, rural energy, fisheries, and forestry for at least 15 years. IV. Requirements for foreign languages Applicants must hold a certificate of passing the National Professional Title Foreign Language Test at Level B (or Level A), obtained in 2000 or later, a certificate of successful completion of the test, or a notification of their score for that year’s test ； Those who started working before the end of 1977 can apply if they score 45 points or more on the Level B (or Level A) foreign language exam for professional titles in 2004 and subsequent years.

Obtaining a certification is not the only path; to put it bluntly, will your company give you a raise after you get the certification? It is suggested that the educational qualification level could also be improved

There’s someone in our company who specializes in pharmaceuticals; since their field of study isn’t relevant, they can’t take the exam to become a registered chemical engineer. He passed the basic requirements, but was rejected during the assessment for the specialized exam. From Shandong; I’m not sure if there’s any connection to this place. . You should not be eligible to take the exam for a registered chemical engineer given your major. You might consider pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree while still working; it’s more useful to improve your educational level. Well, these days when looking for a job, experience is what matters most; educational background and things like that aren’t that important. Moreover, boys benefit from it anyway

When our class graduated, many large chemical companies came to recruit us, as our school’s chemistry and chemical engineering program was quite renowned in the province. But a year later, almost no one was working in the chemical industry anymore; let alone women. Everyone said they would not work in this field going forward.
