On March 14, the **Ministry of Environmental Protection issued a notice announcing that it would formally review the environmental impact assessment documents for Su Xin New Energy and Feng Co., Ltd.’s project to produce 4 billion standard cubic meters of natural gas per year from coal. The basic information of the environmental impact assessment document to be reviewed is also made public, with the publicity period running from March 14, 2016, to March 18, 2016. It is reported that the project plans to utilize local coal resources, and employ technologies such as pressurized gasification of coal particles, pressurized gasification of pulverized coal, and methanization to produce 4 billion standard cubic meters per year of synthetic natural gas. The main product is synthetic natural gas, while the by-products include sulfur, naphtha, tar, crude phenol, liquid ammonia, and ammonium sulfate. On November 27, 2015, the Ministry of Environmental Protection announced that it had officially accepted the environmental impact assessment documents for Su New Energy and Feng Co., Ltd.’s coal-to-natural gas project with a capacity of 4 billion standard cubic meters per year. Su New Energy and Feng Co., Ltd. is a coal-based clean energy development entity approved by the relevant authorities of Jiangsu Province, established under the leadership of the Jiangsu State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission. It was founded with funding from five major provincial-owned enterprises: Xuzhou Mining Group, Guoxin Group, Transportation Holding Group, Suhao Group, and Huihong Group. Under the direct oversight of these authorities, the company serves as the implementing entity for the \"Agreement on Deepening Strategic Cooperation in Clean Energy between Jiangsu and Xinjiang.\" It is tasked with carrying out initiatives related to industrial support for Xinjiang and the delivery of natural gas from Xinjiang to Jiangsu. The company takes over all responsibilities related to Xuzhou Mining Group’s Tacheng He Feng project, which involves the production of 4 billion cubic meters of coal-based natural gas per year, as well as subsequent projects, in order to build a coal-based clean energy base in Tacheng, Jiangsu Province.
