One of our company’s safety valves, model A48Y-16C, has a broken spring and can no longer be used. There is currently one safety valve in the warehouse, model WA42Y-16P; both have the same diameter, namely DN40. The nominal pressure is also the same, at 1.6 MPa. The setting pressure differs slightly, but as far as I know, the setting pressure of safety valves with the same nominal pressure can be adjusted to be identical. It’s also possible to replace the carbon steel with stainless steel; is it feasible to do so? Please share your opinions. By the way, what does the first letter “W” in the WA42Y-16P model stand for? I know the meaning of the other letters, but I’m not sure about “W”. Could you also provide some information regarding safety valve models?

The other data are similar; it mainly depends on the parameters of the spring – if they match, it can be used.
Bellows safety valves are mainly suitable for applications with large variations in back pressure, as well as those involving flammable, explosive, or toxic substances, where they can help to balance the back pressure.
