Dear colleagues, we currently have a container that meets national standards, with a honeycomb jacket. We intend to conduct a pressure testing to determine the maximum allowable operating pressure. The key issue is that this is the first time our company is handling such a task; in the past we had ready-made containers and didn’t pay attention to this issue. According to GB150 Appendix C, 2.4.1, a technical review must be carried out in accordance with Article 1.9 of the Solid Pressure Vessels Regulations. Article 1.9 refers to new materials, new technologies, and new processes, but since honeycomb jackets have been in use for many years, they don’t fall under these categories. So the question is: what should we do next?
I’ve been using ASTM-grade 304L, 304, and 3.5Ni for many years now, and yet there’s still a need for a technical review. . It’s best to consult the Rating and Bidding Committee first
