I am encountering some difficulties while calculating gas-to-gas heat exchangers. When I enter the relevant parameters in HTRI, it does not perform the calculations. Could any expert help me with this? Thank you very much! The following are the process parameters: Process conditions: (Superheated steam is used to superheat the mixture of steam and oxygen on the other side; the outlet on the hot side is condensate.) Cold side: Medium: Oxygen + steam. Oxygen flow rate: 11,430 kg/h; Steam flow rate: 9,600 kg/h. Temperature: 235 degrees, with heating to 350 degrees. Pressure: 3.8 MPaG (total pressure). Hot side: Medium: Steam. Superheated steam: ? kg/h Temperature: 440 degrees Pressure: 4.0 MPaG The output is saturated condensate at a pressure of 4.0
The general calculation steps are as follows: first, determine the heat required for oxygen and steam before and after heating. Then, the required amount of superheated steam is calculated inversely based on the heat. At this point, the steam first changes from superheated to saturated, and then condenses in its saturated state to form liquid water. Here, the steam I heat is completely condensed. Based on rough calculations, approximately 1.3*10^6 kJ/h of heat is required, along with 628.9 kg/h of superheated steam. I’m not sure if it’s correct; I’m waiting for experts to give me some guidance.
