We want to recover the flue gas from power plants, which contains various components – mainly CO2, SO2, and water vapor. We are currently discussing whether stainless steel pipes or tanks are necessary, as there are concerns regarding corrosion issues. I’d like to hear the opinions of those with more experience. Also, if we use a refrigerator to reduce the H2O content so that only gaseous water remains, will this reduce corrosion? Our main concern is that corrosion could lead to a decrease in the pressure resistance of pipes and tanks, thereby causing safety accidents. Thank you all~~

There is pressure, there is a certain temperature, and corrosion is bound to occur.
The pressure is a little over 20 barg, and the temperature is around 50 degrees. I was wondering whether 304 SS will work, or if 316 SS is necessary~~~ Thank you!
In the case of corrosion, pipes can have PE rotational molding inside steel tubes, while tanks can have PE rotational molding inside carbon steel.
If the pipes and tanks are not lined with plastic, 316SS is required
Under these conditions, it is recommended to use flue pipes made of carbon steel or stainless steel lined with PTFE; such pipes have a long service life and there is no need to worry about corrosion issues
Actually, it doesn’t take very long. The manager has always wanted to use carbon steel and kept asking us how fast corrosion occurs, whether there will be any problems after a few months, and what the costs would be. But the management doesn’t need to do this; however, the operators are there at all times, and safety cannot be ignored.
Choose polyaniline for anti-corrosion; there’s no problem with that
