What are the reasons for frosting in the air separation cold box? Please help analyze it
First, the low-temperature pipeline is too close to the cold box wall, resulting in a strip-shaped frost band. Second, if the pearlescent sand is not compacted or becomes damp, it naturally sinks. Third, low-temperature medium leakage.
Insufficient blanketing gas or blocked blanketing pipeline
If there isn’t heavy frost accumulation, the likelihood of leakage is low; the main issue is the uneven filling of the pearlescent sand! Minor leaks cannot be ruled out either!
The cold box is too small, so less pearlescent sand was used
If the cold box itself has leaks, frost will form at those locations when there are low-temperature equipment, pipes, or valves present; blocking the leaks will resolve the issue. The valve used for analysis sampling was opened too wide, resulting in strip-shaped frosting. During installation, the insulation material inside the equipment support or pipe valve support should be removed.
