Since the temperature of the urea and carbon dioxide feed gas is high, can it be reduced by directly spraying circulating water for cleaning?
That’s not quite right; it won’t cause the gas to contain water.
It is not possible to cool it by spraying water directly, as water tends to precipitate when the system is at saturation.
It is best not to use circulating water for direct cooling, as CO2 has a high solubility in water, which can lead to carbon loss. Additionally, there are many devices that use direct spraying for cooling, and it is necessary to consider the corrosion issue of all equipment pipelines in an acidic environment – at least materials of 304 grade should be used. If it is a public circulating cooling water system, it will disrupt the ecology of the entire water system. Furthermore, many decarbonization methods cause the CO2 gas containing unsaturated water vapor to reach a state of water vapor saturation; as a result, the amount of condensate produced during compression and cooling in the compressor stage increases significantly, increasing the likelihood of accidents caused by water. It is recommended to use a vertical multi-tube heat exchanger to lower the temperature of the raw material CO2.
An additional heat exchanger can be added to the synthesized carbon dioxide, and the demisting device in the separator at the first stage of the unit can be improved to reduce foam carryover
