Can 304L pipes be directly welded to 316L pipes?

Dear experts, I have a question: Can 304L pipes and 316L pipes be welded together directly, either using flanges or fittings? Is it likely that cracks will form at the weld site? If it’s possible, would it work to use 316L welding wire for the welding?
Either 304L welding material or 316L welding material can be used. . The welding performance is very good. . A very conventional austenitic stainless steel material. . It’s not a problem at all. .
