Installation of the semi-circular tube in the reactor clamp jacket

A semi-circular tube is installed between the two flanges of the reaction kettle jacket. It is generally placed either on top or below the platform – what are the advantages and disadvantages of each option? I would appreciate it if experienced colleagues could provide some guidance. Thank you
In jacketed reaction kettles, the upper part often does not require a jacket; this area is used for installing legs or platforms, etc.
Mine is a reaction kettle with a lid; the legs are located on the jacket, and the two upper flanges of the jacket are on the platform. Some installers suggested using elbows to guide the coil tubes underneath the platform – is that correct?
I’ve never understood it – what is the relationship between the two flanges, the semi-circular tube, and the jacket?
